48 Hours in Lexington, Kentucky

Last weekend we traveled to Lexington, Kentucky for a family wedding. The moment we stepped out of the airport into a warm, balmy evening with insects loudly buzzing, my heart felt right at home. I really love warm weather. And it smelled like plants, totally lush and intoxicating.

Lexington was great place for a destination wedding. We drank bourbon at the Woodford Reserve, drove meandering country roads, admired old homes, saw horses, farms, visited Mary Todd Lincoln's house, and did a walking tour of Gratz Park Historic District...

We got lost on country roads, saw horses, tobacco drying in barns, a wooden covered bridge, and ate some outta this world peanut butter pie at Fat Boys BBQ...

And, of course, we celebrated the lovely the bride and groom....
